Technique days + ordinary training

Saturday
Some technique work with my Finnish friend Antti

Lccj: some sets for time, focus on relaxation, general technique
- relax hands in lockout (evident in snatch, but I tend to forget in jerk/lc)
- relax in arms shoulders in rack, lowering rpm can be one way working with that
- I trained with Antti last year and he said my form has improved. Good! When Antti talks about bells he is usually right :-)

Snatch
- different styles, too much points to write down :-)

Oa lc long set:
- make plus 10 minutes sets and observe what happens with puls and lower heart rate if necessary. Talked about that it would be fun with a program for marathon-lifts.
- video LINK

My friend Antti's visit was great. On the one hand we did fun sightseeing in Gothenburg, on the other we made some training and I got some nice programmes. Sometimes a few good beers slipped down, but not too many as the girya does not approve. Of course, we also made some plans for the Swedish participation at the open Finnish long cycle competition in October.

Monday 5th
Snatch 12 &20kg: 5/5
Snatch 24kg: 5/5, 30/30
Snatch 28kg: 5/5

Clean 2x20kg: 10
Clean 2x28kg: 10, 5

Snatch 12kg (with fleece glove): 10 min (46/46/10 etc...)

Tuesday 6th
Jerk 2x20kg: 10
Jerk 2x24kg: 10
Jerk 2x28kg: 2,4,6,2,3,5,6 (messed up counting :-)

Oa jerk 24kg: 5/5
Oa jerk 36kg: 1/1

Jerk 2x24kg: 20
Jerk 2x20kg: 20

I have recently started work again, it is not physically hard, but quite mobile, and I think that takes the speed out of my jerks = make them harder. Worked there last year and will adapt soon.

Technically, I focused getting up from the 2nd dip quicker and angle of thumbs in lockout.

My rack is a lot easier without belt, nowadays. But I will keep the belt anyhow. Mostly, because of ideological reasons, but also I think it can save your back when you do high volume jerks and/or is tired in lockout. Maybe I will do a few 20kg jerks when no one is looking.

Thank's Mait for great GB-experience! Back home and did one modest training session today. Back to timed sets. Next week I will do 8 min and after some time 9 and 10. Maybe till 15 min or so. Then some heavier stuff.

Thanks to you too! Hope the ride home went smooth. Also did two light sessions yesterday and today. Tomorrow I will rest and back to normal. Look forward next long set, in a week or so - 30 min?

Well, should be 30 min with 20kg. Maybe jerks? I did some 7 min easy LC today. I did too slow? Next time heavier bells or lot faster pace. But still, first I want to make 10 min feeling easy and then move to bigger bells. But once a week I will also concentrate on 26kg bells too. Just to make them familiar to me.

very detailed video. just the information I have been looking for.

Great if you found it useful Kenan!

A: yes, shorter than 30 min with 20kg is laziness :-), at least 30min next time. Seems a good idea with the 26s!

Actually this is the very first time I can see my lifting from sideways. The shoulders looks pretty good in fixed position. Pretty relaxed too. I am quite pleased after two shoulder operations.

Form is looking good. You said you're keeping the belt for ideological reasons? I've never found a belt necessary for KB Sport in general. Personal preferences I guess.

Thanks Boris! Belts... the Mrkl mind is a very complex one.

I might train without it when no one sees sometimes :-).

Btw, do you have any plans visiting Sweden?
